As PINTU Incubator enters its fourth year, the program continues to solidify its position as a strategic bilateral platform nurturing young creative talent from Indonesia and France. This year, PINTU proudly announces a groundbreaking Residency Program, alongside the curation of top Indonesian brands to participate in the prestigious Première Classe Paris Trade Show, taking place from October 3–6, 2025, at Jardin des Tuileries, in parallel with Paris Fashion Week.
The 2025 Residency Program represents a bold step in fostering cross-cultural collaboration. For the first time, emerging French designers reside in Indonesia for three to four months, immersing themselves in the country’s rich heritage of batik, weaving, and artisanal craftsmanship. Working hand-in-hand with local designers, these international talents experiment, co-create, and translate Indonesia’s cultural heritage into contemporary fashion expressions ready for the global market.
Two standout designers lead this initiative. Kozué Sullerot explored batik in Tegal, Central Java, absorbing the philosophy and meaning embedded in every wax line and dye stroke. Her experience inspired a vibrant resort-style collection featuring natural cotton and linen, reversible designs, and motifs inspired by nature, reflecting both cultural depth and global relevance. Meanwhile, Priscille Berthaud engaged with Lombok’s weavers, learning the meditative art of songket and traditional weaving. Her collection draws on architectural elements of Teras Lakon and traditional Indonesian garments like baju kurung, sarong, and kebaya, reinterpreted in loose, elegant ready-to-wear silhouettes. Through this cultural exchange, the Residency Program demonstrates PINTU Incubator’s commitment to nurturing global perspectives while preserving Indonesia’s artisanal heritage.
Alongside the Residency Program, PINTU Incubator’s curation process has identified two exceptional Indonesian brands for the 2025 Première Classe Paris Trade Show: Denim It Up and Lil Public.
Denim It Up, founded by Vincent Mikhael in 2017, is Indonesia’s contemporary denim specialist. With a modern streetwear aesthetic infused with grunge elements, the brand combines batik motifs with bold denim construction in its “The Revelation” collection. Featuring 12 looks, including t-shirts, jackets, jeans, and accessory pieces with distinctive TRILOGO and colorful stitching, Denim It Up embodies Indonesian craftsmanship with global appeal.
Lil Public, founded in 2019 by Hafiz, merges streetwear with literary storytelling and urban aesthetics. The brand’s “Hisashi Series” presents 12 oversized unisex looks, including hoodies, jackets, t-shirts, and accessories. Inspired by Hisashi Kashiwa’s novel The Restaurant of Lost Recipes, the collection uses premium cotton fleece, denim, and vegan leather, enhanced with embroidery, digital printing, and towel embroidery. Lil Public’s signature illustrative monsters, rendered in watercolor tones, bring a fresh, playful, and globally relevant energy to the collection.
Returning for a third participation is Fuguku, the 2023 PINTU Incubator alum. This eco-tech atelier transforms recycled polyester into 3D textured designs inspired by traditional jumputan, collaborating with 70 female artisans in Greater Jakarta. Following a successful debut at Osaka World Expo 2025, Fuguku presents modular adaptive pieces and the Shell Bag, further strengthening Indonesia’s presence in the global circular fashion ecosystem.
With continued support from the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) and the Jakarta Department of Tourism and Creative Economy (Disparekraf), PINTU Incubator also proudly features Rubysh, further reinforcing its mission to bring Indonesian fashion to global audiences. Rubysh joins the ranks of other curated brands, showcasing how local creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling can resonate on the international stage.
Through the Residency Program, international collaborations, and global trade show participation, PINTU Incubator demonstrates its leadership as a premier Fashion Incubator, bridging local talent to international opportunities, providing structured mentorship, and equipping brands for sustainable growth in the Fashion Business. As Indonesian designers step confidently onto Parisian runways, the program reaffirms its role as a vital Incubator Program shaping the future of the nation’s fashion ecosystem.
