How To Participate

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a free nationwide admission program open to all young Indonesian fashion designers.


  1. Male/Female, aged 18–35 years old, and an  Indonesian citizen.
  2. A graduate of a fashion school with a degree in Fashion Design.
  3. Possesses a valid passport active until 2027.
  4. An emerging designer with unique and promising skills.
  5. Demonstrates creative vision, technical ability, and market potential.
  6. Shows genuine interest in Indonesian textiles (wastra), markets, and culture.
  7. Able to communicate in English.
  8. Willing to commit to a 3–6 month collaboration program.
  9. Willing to work with a French designer.


Main Activities:

  1. COLLABORATION (1 April – 31 July 2026)
    Participants will collaborate with a French designer, together with LAKON Indonesia, to create an original capsule collection. Participants will work with specialized artisans to explore the following traditional techniques: Batik and/or Tenun.
  2. JF3 FASHION FESTIVAL – FOCUS WEEK (22 – 31 July 2026)
    Participants will join a focus week program alongside experts and creators from France to deepen their understanding of the Indonesian fashion market and industry. Participants may also present their capsule collection at the French Residency and fashion show at the JF3 Fashion Festival.
  3. PREMIÈRE CLASSE PARIS (2 – 5 October 2026)
    The capsule collection may be commercialized in Indonesia (based on the designer–brand contract) and has the opportunity to be showcased at the Première Classe Paris trade show in October 2026.


Project Deliverables:

  1. Deepen knowledge of traditional Indonesian textile techniques selected by the organizers.
  2. Participate in a co-creation residency between the Indonesian Designer and the French Designer together with LAKON Indonesia, including developing the capsule collection at the Teras LAKON workshop.
  3. Be willing to collaborate effectively with the French Designer and Indonesian Artisan.
  4. Create a capsule collection and produce a minimum of 6 (six) pieces with LAKON Indonesia and the French Designer
  5. Conduct a photoshoot for the images and lookbook of the 6 (six) pieces with LAKON Indonesia and the French Designer.
  6. Present the 6 (six) works at LAKON Stores, showcase them on the JF3 Fashion Festival runway, and at the Paris Trade Show; the pieces may also be sold at LAKON Stores if deemed successful by the curators.

  2. Accommodation and transportation during the artisan visit 
  3. working space at Teras LAKON
  4. Proffesional photo & video session
