IFCCI 2025 marked a significant milestone in the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and France. Held as a gala dinner at Pullman Jakarta Central Park, the event was more than a ceremonial celebration—it served as a strategic platform to connect key stakeholders from both countries and open doors for deeper collaboration, especially in the creative economy and fashion sectors.
As a global fashion capital, France plays a major role in shaping trends and industry standards. For Indonesia, this presents a valuable opportunity to introduce its local fashion talent to international audiences. Through partnerships between IFCCI (Indonesian French Chamber of Commerce and Industry), the French Embassy, and local institutions such as PINTU Incubator and Institut Français Indonesia (IFI), the Indonesian fashion ecosystem gained new access to global networks and markets.
PINTU Incubator’s participation became one of the key highlights of IFCCI 2025. As part of the celebration, PINTU presented a trunk show featuring collections from four of its alumni designers—Tepa Selira, APAKABAR, Rizkya Batik, and Nona Rona. Additionally, LAKON Indonesia and eleven other local brands showcased their work through curated installations, offering French guests a glimpse into the depth and diversity of Indonesian fashion—not just in terms of aesthetics, but also global competitiveness.
The future of Indonesia–France collaboration in the fashion industry looks promising. This direction is reinforced by support from KADIN Indonesia and its French counterpart, who are actively encouraging stronger trade and investment ties between the two nations. Anindya Bakrie, Chairman of KADIN’s Advisory Board, emphasized the importance of using this diplomatic moment to elevate Indonesia’s global presence, particularly through creative industries such as fashion.
Meanwhile, the upcoming visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Indonesia underscores the significance of “people-to-people relationships” as the foundation of long-term partnerships. In fashion terms, this translates into cultural exchanges, educational opportunities, and business collaborations between designers, academics, and industry players from both countries.
With the foundation laid by IFCCI 2025, Indonesia–France diplomatic relations are entering a new chapter. From the catwalk to the boardroom, from traditional textiles to global markets—fashion is emerging as a powerful medium of diplomacy, helping to carry Indonesia’s cultural voice onto the world stage.
