Apa Kabar
The founder, Prafitra Viniani is a Fashion & Textile Designer from Bandung, Indonesia. She graduated with Master Direction Artistique et Marketing de la Mode at Ecole de Conde Lyon, France, in 2018. Since, she has cultivated her talent through collaborations with fashion houses in New York, Paris and Amsterdam.
“Loosely translated to English, apa kabar means ‘how are you’. In its shout-out to Earth and its inhabitants, the name covers the brand’s mission to reduce the negative impact on our planet and increase the harmony between it and its people.”
ABOUT THE BRAND
APAKABAR’s choice of materials focuses on Mycelium leather. Also, coffee pulp leather and cassava fabric add to reduce the collection’s footprint.
Additionally, ‘Jablak’ or ‘BS’ fabrics are obtained in the Cigondewah district of Bandung, infamous for its stockpile of discarded overproduction and waste fabrics. By introducing these leftovers as support in her collection
APAKABAR also brings new life to otherwise landfill-doomed or destroyed fabrics. APAKABAR has been selected by PINTU to showcase at the Premiere Classe, Paris of March 2023.
