Pintu Incubator & LAKON Indonesia Present a Cross-Cultural Fashion Collaboration At Premiere Classe Paris

Highlight

PINTU Incubator presents Indonesian textile heritage at Première Classe Paris, showcasing artisan collaborations, local brands, and global fashion partnerships.

Paris, October 3, 2025 – Lakon Indonesia, through its international initiative PINTU Incubator, proudly presents a collaborative capsule collection at Première Classe Paris, one of the world’s most influential fashion trade shows. This appearance marks a significant step in introducing the richness of Indonesian textile heritage to the global stage while strengthening cross-cultural dialogue between Indonesia and France.

Bilateral Fashion Platform

PINTU Incubator – an initiative founded by Lakon Indonesia, JF3 Fashion Festival, and The French Embassy in Indonesia through the Institut Français d’Indonesie – was established to support young Indonesian talents in growing and connecting with the international market. From the beginning, PINTU has provided mentorship programs, industry access, and global exposure, enabling Indonesian creativity to thrive in a contemporary and professional context.

PINTU Incubator was born out of the belief that Indonesia’s cultural heritage should not only be preserved but also given the space to transform and compete on an international level. Première Classe gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that creations from Indonesia possess quality craftsmanship, market relevance, and global competitiveness,” - Thresia Mareta, Founder of Lakon Indonesia & Co-initiator of PINTU Incubator.

Residency Collection at Première Classe

In this Paris edition, PINTU showcases the outcomes of its Residency Program, a platform that brings together international designers with local Indonesian artisans:

Priscille Berthaud, a graduate of École Duperré Paris, collaborated with weavers in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. She translated traditional weaving structures into elegant silhouettes with architectural touches.

Kozue Sullerot, a designer from Enamoma (École Nationale de Mode et Matière – PSL Paris), worked with batik artisans in Tegal, Central Java. Together, they introduced new motifs and techniques that brought fresh energy to the batik tradition. These two collaborations resulted in capsule collections that blend artistic depth with market readiness—not merely prototypes, but fashion lines ready to meet international buyers.

Curated Local Brands: Denim It Up & Lil Public
In addition to presenting the Residency collection, this year PINTU Incubator also brings two curated local brands to Paris: Denim It Up and Lil Public. Both brands have undergone an intensive development process over approximately seven months within the PINTU program, including mentoring, business guidance, and collection preparation to ensure they are ready to compete in the global market.

Supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy of Republic of Indonesia and the Jakarta Department of Tourism and Creative Economy, the presence of these two curated brands at Première Classe Paris underscore PINTU’s commitment not only to fostering cross-cultural collaborations but also to elevating the potential of promising Indonesian brands onto the international stage.

Mentorship Program with Industry Experts
As part of its ongoing commitment, this year PINTU Incubator once again brought in experts from various sectors of the fashion industry to serve as mentors for its participants. Among them is Alain Soreil, Director at École Duperré Paris, who recently signed an MoU with PINTU to strengthen educational collaboration and designer exchange programs.

Collaboration with PINTU is an important step in expanding the reach of fashion education. Through this partnership, Indonesian designers gain access to international perspectives, while we in France also learn from the richness of Indonesian textile traditions. It is a mutually enriching exchange,” - Alain Soreil, Director of École Duperré Paris.

Lakon Indonesia: Fashion with Purpose
Founded by Thresia Mareta, Lakon Indonesia is more than just a fashion label—it is a cultural ecosystem that integrates design, artisan empowerment, and global collaboration. Guided by the philosophy of “Drawing the wisdom of the past into the future,” Lakon translates Indonesia’s textile heritage into modern lifestyle collections while also building platforms like PINTU to support the next generation of designers.

Strengthening Indonesia–France Relations
Participation in Première Classe reaffirms the commitment to deepen cultural and economic ties between Indonesia and France. PINTU has gained recognition from various French institutions as well as international buyers due to its quality execution and unique positioning. By focusing on artisans and designers, each collaboration holds not only artistic value but also commercial sustainability.
