The PINTU Incubator 2024 program continues its mission to foster innovation and creativity in the Indonesian fashion industry. Since its inception in 2022, PINTU Incubator has successfully opened up opportunities for dozens of young brands and designers to grow from local to international markets, providing them with the additional knowledge and skills needed to elevate local fashion brands to meet international standards. One of PINTU's major achievements is bringing these young creators to the prestigious Première Classe - Paris Trade Show during Paris Fashion Week and providing six-month scholarships at the renowned École Duperré fashion school in Paris, which is known for accepting a very limited number of students each year, even making it difficult for French students themselves.

In this year's PINTU Incubator program, after undergoing rigorous curation and intensive training planned to run for six months, PINTU Incubator has announced five participants who will present their work at Indonesia's largest fashion show, the JF3 Fashion Festival 2024. This year, PINTU is once again collaborating with graduates from the renowned École Duperré Paris. The "PINTU Participants X École Duperré" fashion show will be held at Summarecon Mall Serpong on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. This collaboration is concrete proof of PINTU Incubator's commitment to empowering talented young designers in expanding market networks, product development, and cultural exchange in the Indonesian-French fashion ecosystem.

Soegianto Nagaria, Chairman of JF3 and co-initiator of PINTU Incubator, stated, "JF3 is not just an event, but a mature and complete ecosystem to support fashion industry players. One of the programs at JF3 that we call PINTU Incubator has proven to be successful in opening up many opportunities for participants to develop their markets to the global level. Together with LAKON Indonesia and the French Embassy through the Institut Francais d'Indonesie (IFI), JF3 will continue to drive the growth of Indonesian local brands, contribute to their progress and make the Indonesian fashion industry stronger and more competitive. I congratulate the five selected incubator participants on their enthusiasm and consistency in reaching this stage. Welcome to the JF3 Fashion Show stage. We hope the incubator participants can continue to innovate and play an active role in advancing the Indonesian fashion industry."

PINTU Incubator is a visionary bilateral platform aimed at empowering young talents and SMEs in the Indonesian and French fashion business. This initiative bridges the diversity of cultures between the two countries and supports sustainability, encouraging collaboration between local and global fashion ecosystems. Through a series of mentoring, workshops, and collaborations with leading Indonesian and French fashion organizations and experts, PINTU Incubator prepares participants to be ready and able to enter the fashion market and gain international exposure.

Thresia Mareta, founder of LAKON Indonesia and co-initiator of PINTU Incubator, explained, "PINTU Incubator was built with the vision of building a dynamic forum that will bring together a new generation of Indonesian and French fashion players. We empower and encourage the growth of all participants, facilitating anyone involved who wants to grow and develop, both nationally and internationally. This effort will not only benefit the domestic fashion industry but, most importantly, also have a significant impact on society as a whole."

The curation process for PINTU Incubator participants began with recruitment in November 2023, which successfully attracted the enthusiasm of more than 500 young creators. Participants then went through a series of rigorous curation processes, resulting in the selection of five best brands that will undergo an intensive incubation program. These local brands are Senses, Enigma, Denim It Up, Arae, and Tales and Wonder. These five brands will present their work on the JF3 runway alongside six École Duperré alumni: Colline Percin, Luisa Gauchon, Noemie Jondot, Guy Chassaing, Ninon Fievet, and Daniel Cheruzel.

The curation stage will continue, so that eventually two brands will be selected to participate in the Paris Trade Show, along with alumni from the previous PINTU Incubator program. This shows that the mentoring carried out by PINTU Incubator is ongoing and sustainable.

This year, PINTU Incubator has also strengthened its international partnerships with various strategic parties. The French Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, H.E Fabien Penone, also reiterated this, "PINTU forms an innovative alliance between France and Indonesia in the field of fashion. Since its inception in 2022, the program has supported more than thirty-five designers in both countries. For the third year, twenty French designers and fashion professionals will be involved in various activities that include business meetings, fashion shows, conferences, studio visits, and mentoring. At the end of the week, Indonesian designers will be selected to showcase their collections in Paris in September 2024. The PINTU program is an opportunity to collaborate with passionate individuals, exchange ideas, and challenge ourselves in pursuing the international market. This year, Première Classe, Institut français Paris, and the prestigious Duperré - Paris school have committed to supporting the PINTU Incubator program!"

Established in 2022, PINTU Incubator is building a solid foundation for young talents in the Indonesian fashion industry to be ready to enter the global fashion market. The program offers a range of mentoring, workshops, and collaborations with organizations and cross-sector figures, both from Indonesia and France. In 2023, PINTU Incubator made history in the Indonesian fashion industry by sending the best incubator participants to Première Classe, Paris Trade Show, twice a year. Premiere Classe is known as an exclusive trade show, a gathering place for fashion buyers, fashion industry players, and international journalists. Incubator participants FUGUKU, Apa Kabar, and Bertjorak successfully attracted direct orders from fashion buyers. In addition, the FUGUKU brand also achieved an achievement for its work being curated in the collection of the French art museum, Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

Profiles of École Duperré Paris Designers

Louisa Gauchon

Louisa Gauchon will present her collection titled "Who Will Be Crowned the Big Winner?" at JF3 Fashion Show 2024. Her collection blends high culture aesthetics (classic art, aristocratic culture, etc.) with low culture (streetwear, pop culture, etc.), creating a new, fashionable hybrid style. Gauchon views her work as self-expression, a playground for understanding life’s hierarchies. The collection is a dialogue between sportswear materials and baroque elements, achieved through experiments with style, layering, volume, and form.

Guy Chassaing

Guy Chassaing will showcase "Shreds Metamorphosis," inspired by the 1975 documentary "Grey Garden" by the Maysles Brothers. This collection celebrates creativity amidst decline. With a sensitive approach, Chassaing revives the spirit of life through garments made from scraps and leftover materials.

Noemie Jondot will present a mini collection titled "En Un Battement d'Aile" (In the Blink of an Eye) at JF3 Fashion Show 2024. Inspired by Tchaikovsky’s ballet "Swan Lake," this collection narrates the transformation of a black swan into a grey swan and finally into a radiant white swan. The presentation starts with a black coat symbolizing the black swan, followed by a grey pearl-accented evening gown, and concludes with a radiant white wedding gown representing the white swan.
