PINTU Incubator is a bilateral initiative launched in 2022, between fashion ecosystem LAKON Indonesia, Indonesian fashion industry champion JF3, the French Embassy of Indonesia, and the Institut Franc¸ais d'Indonesie (IFI). PINTU will be showcasing five Indonesian brands at the upcoming trade show Premiere Classe Paris in March 2023 during Paris Fashion Week.
PINTU Incubator is a unique platform that seeks to address the needs of Indonesian and French creatives and SMEs in the fashion business, preparing them for international exposure with a strong focus on sustainability and traditional know-how. The initiative aims to create opportunities for exchange and collaboration while strengthening brands and businesses.
The mission of PINTU Incubator is to grow and develop promising Indonesian and French talents in the field of fashion design and craft smanship, and to make them sustainable and integrated brands on the international market. The PINTU program is designed to help address the demanding levels of creativity, productivity and visibility of the industry through training and bilateral exchanges provided by experienced professionals in both countries.
With a program packed with more than 45 mentoring sessions, PINTU Incubator’s program offers mentoring opportunities and Masterclasses with experts from every field of the fashion industry.

Soegianto Nagaria, chairman of JF3 and PINTU co-initiator, expressed his pride in the five Indonesian fashion brands representing the industry at the trade show Premiere Classe Paris. We hope that local Indonesian brands can contribute to the advancement of the domestic fashion industry," he asserted.
PINTU Incubator is a prime example of how cross-cultural collaboration can nurture emerging talent and promote traditional craft smanship, while creating sustainable and responsible fashion for the global market.
For PINTU Incubator’s first exhibit at Premiere Classe Paris, emerging designer brands Apakabar and Parapohon, as well as artisan brands Tenun Imam and Tenun Lurik Rachmad will each present their collections, celebrating their authenticity and masterful traditional craft smanship. The four participants share the key values of creating sustainable yet commercial products that respect the environment and communities. Meanwhile, the more established brand, LAKON Indonesia, will showcase its latest collection at the PINTU booth at Premiere Classe Paris in the Jardin des Tuileries. This will be a significant opportunity for these brands to expand their market and connect with potential business partners in the international fashion industry.
APAKABAR
Apakabar is an innovative fashion brand created by designer Prafitra Viniani. The brand's atelier serves as both a creative space and laboratory for Viniani to explore new materials for her designs. The ETRE collection, which will be showcased at Premiere Classe, features new elements and utilizes sustainable materials like mushroom leather. Apakabar is committed to creating fashion that is fun, sustainable, and in harmony with nature, society, and the universe.
PARAPOHON
Parapohon is a men's fashion brand co-founded by Alexander Prasetya, Rosie Rahmadi, and Alamsyah Beta, with the focus on offering comfortable and elegant clothes that respect the environment, society, and local economy. The brand ensures complete transparency in its manufacturing process and impact, with an annual report highlighting its objectives for improvement. Their latest collection "Mahawira" draws inspiration from the sartorial style of Indonesia’s national hero, Prince Diponegoro. Parapohon's collections feature simple shapes cut from high-quality linen, designed to make the wearer feel good inside and out. The brand will showcase their latest collection at Premiere Classe Paris.
TENUN IMAM
This award-winning brand of woven textile designs is led by Imam Budijono and his son Wim Alfian Rifqi, both alumni of the Textile Technology Institute (ITT) in Bandung. The hallmark of Tenun Imam combines several weaving techniques, allowing various unique textures to appear on the fabric. Their impeccable creations have attracted a loyal following from Indonesia’s creative and social elite.
TENUN LURIK RACHMAD
Tenun Lurik Rachmad is a brand that specializes in recycled cotton weaving. Inherited by Mr. Rachmad in the 1960s, it is now run by the third generation of the family. Their traditional cloth has been recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, and they pride themselves on using 100% cotton processed in the traditional way. They use recycled cotton to create thick cotton fabrics, and also make carpets from factory waste materials that are then embroidered. The brand's unique selling point is their ability to recycle raw materials into high-quality export products.
LAKON INDONESIA
LAKON Indonesia is an ecosystem founded by Thresia Mareta in 2018 to preserve Indonesian culture. The goal is to cultivate the basic cultural principles and make them an integral part of modern society's daily life. Since the beginning, although in the middle of the pandemic, LAKON Indonesia has consistently presented creations and collections in special cultural shows such as Pakaiankoe, Gantari, Aradhana and Lorong Waktu.
