Pintu Incubator 2023 Tapping 7 French Designers to Appear at JF3

With over 500 local brands applying, 12 promising brands have been selected to undergo incubation. This initiative strengthens bilateral cooperation and propels Indonesian brands onto the global stage.

PINTU Incubator, a collaborative program between JF3, LAKON Indonesia, and the Embassy of France through the Institut Francais d'Indonesie (IFI), has launched the 2023 PINTU Incubator Program for young entrepreneurs in the fashion industry to expand their business to the global market.


This program aims to strengthens bilateral cooperation by inviting a number of French experts to provide mentoring and learning sessions. Moreover, several mentors who are fashion designers and fashion business people showcased their exclusive collections at the JF3 Fashion Show, the biggest fashion festival event in Indonesia. The mentors who presented their collections are Alphonse Maitrepierre, Joshua Cannone, Martial Charasse, Lucie Brochard, Jonathan Canuti, Mossi Traore, and Juliette Pasquier.


More than 500 local brands have registered in the PINTU Incubator 2023 program, and after going through a curation process, 12 brands have been selected to take part in the next incubation process that involve mentors from both Indonesian and France.


Thresia Mareta, Founder of LAKON Indonesia and PINTU Incubator initiator said: "We are grateful for the enthusiasm and appreciation towards the 2023 PINTU program from various parties. Through this collaboration, we will have the opportunity to collaborate to encourage Indonesia to become part of the global ecosystem so that it can open up greater opportunities for many actors at large.”


Furthermore, JF3 Chairman, Soegianto Nagaria, explained: "For nearly 20 years, JF3 has consistently supported and empowered local MSMEs, one of which is through the PINTU Incubator program that focuses on nurturing young Indonesian businesses and creatives. JF3 is also growing more professional by learning from the global fashion industry ecosystem. With this PINTU Incubator program, local Indonesian brands will have the opportunity to broaden their insights into the global fashion market, and at the same time, we can promote each other's. works and introduce artisans, Indonesian fashion MSMEs to fashion players from France.”


Brief Profiles of 7 Mentors and Designers:


Alphonse Maitrepierre


Alphonse Maitrepierre is a French fashion designer who won the Emerging Talent Award of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris 2021. At the 2023 JF3 Fashion Show, Alphonse presented his collection 'The Maitrepierre' Autumn-Winter 2023/2024, which questions the relationship between humans and nature, drawing an inspiration from Shishi-Gami spirit in Shintoism. The collection uses leftover materials that makes it eco-friendly.


Jonathan Canuti


Jonathan Canuti is the Founder of Studio Clandestin, a fashion brand that creates unlimited 'iniquological' works. In the JF3 Fashion Show, Jonathan presented an exclusive collection with the theme '5', which tells the story of the 5th anniversary of the brand. This collection combines recycled materials with hand-crafted fabrics from Nona Source (a platform that collects and sells leftover fabric stock from the LVMH Group). This collection is a limited edition where each piece is only available in five copies.


Joshua Cannone


Joshua is the Founder of Atelier Penso, who works with various brands to create collections of cardholders, belts, and various accessories. At the JF3 2023 event, Joshua presented a collection with the theme 'Stems', which was inspired by the capitalist economy gained from his experience while on the Lower East Side, New York. By using the symbolism of this city, he uses a dialectical approach and surreal silhouettes in creating his collection.


Juliette Pasquier


A young fashion designer who graduated from Ecole Duperre Paris, Juliette presented a collection at this year's JF3 Fashion Show with the theme '8:15AM', which conveyed the feelings of loss and efforts to preserve precious memories with her father in the morning. Through draping techniques, this collection captures traces of memories and expresses them through creative works.


Lucie Brochard


Brochard is a fashion designer from Paris who has gained worldwide recognition and appeared at prestigious fashion weeks in Paris and Seoul. At the JF3 Fashion Festival 2023, she presented a collection with the theme 'World Cruise', which was inspired by the Mediterranean coast. Displaying the color palette of the deep sea, such as navy blue and khaki, Brochard wanted to travel across time and landscapes with warm tones and dry climates.


Martial Charasse


Martial Charasse has experience as an assistant stylist at Chanel and Nike, and as a fashion designer for Swarovski. He founded his own brand, 'Martial', in 2022. At this year's JF3 Fashion Show, he presented a collection that displayed his signature style of intricate cuts and innovative materials. Inspired by the 1960s fashion and her childhood, Martial incorporate his designs with a sensitivity to materials, color, and nature.


Mossi Traore


Mossi is a French Fashion Designer who won the Andam Pierre Berge award in 2020 and has presented two collections every year as part of the official Paris Fashion Week calendar. In this year's JF3 Fashion Show, Mossi presented 'Mossi X Indonesia', a collection that takes inspiration from cultural diversity. Mossi used draping, cutting, and asymmetry techniques while still paying attention to the quality of the materials used.
